Our Program

Here at US Consumer Advocate we offer consumers a way to handle their unsecured debt in an average of 24 to 36 months. In our debt settlement program we use monthly payments to build funds in a special purpose account. As you make monthly payments, and the funds build in this account, our experienced account managers negotiate settlements with your creditors. These settlements are for a fraction of the original debt. We then use the funds in your special purpose account to pay the settlements we negotiate with your creditors. Our program provides you with a way to get out from under a growing burden of debt in a relatively short period of time. This is not to say that there is no risk involved in debt settlement. Although not very common, creditors do sometimes file law suits on delinquent credit accounts. This is something we recognize as a negative aspect to our program. It is nearly impossible for us to tell which of our clients are more likely to receive a law suit or which accounts are at a higher risk. Although USCA cannot represent you in the event of a lawsuit we do ask that you contact us immediately so we can discuss your general options on how to proceed.

Our goal is to help you to become debt free. This is why we encourage our clients to include all of their unsecured debt and to stop the use of any credit cards when they sign up with our program. This is the best way for you to gain control of your financial future and break the cycle of recurring credit card debt. By enrolling in our debt settlement program you are making a commitment to your financial freedom and we are here to help you attain that goal.

A common question at this point is: "How is a program like this is going to affect my credit?". This is a valid concern and one that we encourage you not to take lightly. Credit Scores, commonly referred to as FICO scores (read more at myfico.com), are computer software generated models; different but similar models are used by the three primary credit reporting agencies known as credit bureaus (Experian, Equifax, and Transunion). Each score is based on information the credit bureau keeps on file about you. Many factors affect scores, with your payment history being the single largest component, but still only 35% of the total score. Any debt settlement program will have a negative effect on your credit. We strive to settle your accounts as quickly as possible so that you can start rebuilding your credit sooner rather than later. Our program will ultimately improve your debt-to-income and debt-to-limit ratios and may therefore improve that specific portion of your credit score.
